How to check whether AI describes your software accurately

Start with a buying question

Write a question that a real customer could ask without already knowing your brand. Include the buyer's needs and constraints. Do not tell the assistant to recommend your business.

Keep the evidence comparable

Record the date, platform, visible model, language, region and whether web search was enabled. Use fresh conversations and save complete answers, including sources. Several repetitions can help expose variation; a small sample is still a small sample.

Separate three observations

Record brand mentions, factual accuracy and usable source links separately. A mention is not a ranking guarantee or evidence of a completed purchase. A technical website issue is also not proof that it caused an answer error.

Improve information you can verify

Confirm product facts with the owner before editing. Make deployment options, intended customers, important limitations, support and contact information easy to find. Keep a dated record of the changes.

Check again and report limits

Repeat the same questions after the updated pages have had an opportunity to be discovered. Report missing citations, unchanged answers and uncertainty as well as improvements. Search and AI answers can change for reasons beyond a website edit.
